Steven M. Buckman, an AV Preeminent rated attorney, is a principal with BuckmanLegal PLLC and president of Palisades Title Company in Washington, DC. Mr. Buckman concentrates his practice on title, business and real estate matters. He frequently serves as an expert witness. He is admitted to practice law in DC and the State of New York, as well as several federal courts. He received his B.A. degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and his J.D. degree, cum laude, from the University of Maryland. He is a licensed title agent in the DC and Maryland. While attending college in England he served as an intern for Sir Patrick Duffy, MP. Mr. Buckman served as a legislative assistant to Congressman Tim Hall and, while in law school, he was in intern-clerk for the late Rita Davidson, Judge of the Maryland Court of Special Appeals. He holds membership and leadership positions in several trade organizations and has conducted numerous seminars. In 2012, Mr. Buckman was appointed by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau to serve on its Small Business Review Panel which reviewed its rulemaking proposal to combine mortgage disclosures.
